Neck liposuction is the process of removing excess superficial or deep fat at the cervico-chin angle. Neck contouring helps to restore balance to the facial contours by providing a better defined jawline that frames the rest of the face. At the same time, neck contouring creates a firmer, smoother and more refined appearance on the neck and chin.
The neck lift procedure is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthesia or intravenous sedation. A small incision is made behind the ear and through these incisions, the neck muscles and/or underlying tissues are tightened. This gives the neck a smoother, firmer and more youthful appearance.
As with any surgery, there are risks of neck liposuction. Bruises can be seen under the chin and on the neck. These bruises are temporary and only last for about ten days. Swelling may occur a few weeks after the procedure.
